Come Join the Friends of Fort Owen for a project work day at Fort Owen State Park on Saturday, September 28nd, from 10am to 12pm.
We need your help to protect and preserve one of Montana’s important historic places! Celebrate this National Public Lands Day by staining, painting and cleaning Fort Owen State Park. Volunteers will get hands-on experience preserving historic structures on public lands and learn how much effort it takes to maintain our history.
This event starts at 10am sharp and will include a short orientation; various light maintenance tasks and will end with a provided lunch!
Volunteer spots are limited so we ask that folks attending register by contacting Montana State Parks AmeriCorps member, Josh Parken, at JoshParken@mt.gov or call 406-273-4253. Please wear clothing appropriate for staining and painting. Gloves, tools and refreshments will be provided. Because parking is limited, we will gather at the NW corner of the SuperOne parking lot and shuttle into the park.
For more information contact Josh Parken at (406) 273-4253 or Margaret Gorski at 406-552-2072.
